Gas Fire Repair in Cork

Cork Gas will send their RGI Certified Engineer to complete the repair in compliance with Irish Standard I.S.813 and current Health & Safety regulations.

This repair cost is exclusive to Cork City customers with 20k radius of Cork City. We can repair outside these parameter, and we will only charge a reasonable extra fee to cover travel costs.

Costing Information

The total cost of your repair may vary depending on the nature of the work required for each individual booking.

• The first hour of labour is charged at €160, which is payable at the time of booking.

• If replacement parts are needed, we will clearly explain the issue, and the part needed, provide the cost, and obtain your approval before ordering or fitting any parts. The engineer will always explain any additional time required and discuss the final cost with you in advance. 

These part prices are a guideline only and depend on the brand. Below is a list of common parts that need to be replaced:

• Reciever PCB  €250 - €380
  
• Gas Valve  €270 - €300
• Pilot Light  €95
• Remote handset €180 - €220
• thermocouple €25 - €50
  

These are guidelines only. We aim to be as transparent as possible with our customers so you can make an informed decision before booking us. Here are a few more helpful tips to troubleshoot before you book us, which may save you time and unnecessary costs.

• Have you checked & replaced the batteries in the fire and the remote control? - The fire usually takes 4 AA batteries and the remote usually takes a square 9V battery.
• Check if the main gas valve to the fireplace is fully open.
• Check for a build up of soot around the pilot light. You may be able to clean this yourself. First turn off the main gas valve, you may need too move a few coals so you can access it, then wipe it with a soft cloth.
