In February 2023 Calor announced plans to streamline their small cylinder range to put them in a better position to service their wider cylinder customers who rely on Calor to provide their home heating and hot water.
Some specific user groups who use the 3.9kg propane and 4.5kg butane cylinders, particularly for boating and caravanning, expressed the need for more time to convert their facilities to use the alternative sizes in the market.
To support these customers, Calor will, subject to availability, continue to exchange and refill serviceable* 3.9kg propane and 4.5kg butane cylinders, phasing them out of supply over a longer time. These cylinders will still be discontinued from their range, but this limited additional supply will give customers additional time to source an alternative way to power their onboard facilities.
There is a limited number of in service cylinders and this stock will be available in exchange for an empty cylinder and only at Calor’s Distribution Centres. Customers will need to phone their nearest centre to check if they have stock, place an exchange order, pay for the gas and obtain an order number prior to collection.
Albeit this statement was released By Calor Gas UK and these cylinders are predominantly sold in the Uk. However, they are a few dealers here in Ireland that sell these cylinders and a lot of customers use these cylinders in Caravanning.
A spocksperson form calor told us here at CorkGas that we will start to see a big decline of the 4.5kg and the 3.9kg cylinders from November 2023 onwards.
if You have no option but to use a small cylinder due to the size of your gas Locker, then the only solution is to buy a Camping Gaz R907 Cylinder and Regulator. The good news is Camping Gaz is sold all over Europe.
